Leisurely Day
This morning I called Rhett to see if he wanted his hair cut and to go to the farmer’s market with me. It has been months since either of us had a haircut.
The market was fun. Not too crowded, so at each booth I found something for Rhett to feel. The vendors really got into showing this blind guy various textures and smells. One booth had cement leaf bowls. The vendor had him feel the leaf veins. An artist decided he wants to paint a textured canvas for visually impaired folks.
Rhett got to smell soap and candles, herbs and flowers. The herb lady was fantastic. She “woke up” all then various herbs one by one so Rhett could smell them. It was fun watching his face
I got myself three pepper plants and I bought Rhett a crocheted netting scrubber for his potatoes or dishes.
Then we went to Walmart to get my van’s first oil change. While that was being done, we got haircuts. Wow! Just since Rhett’s last haircut he has gone a lot balder! I told the woman to do anything she wanted with my hair. Kinda short! The good news is that I shouldn’t need another one for a while
Rhett has a new roommate. A guy from church is supposed to stay there for a couple of weeks. Dino has been great! I brought over a mop, bucket, sponges and cleaner and he spiffed the place up.
I’ve had a wicked bad sore throat and puffed out neck and I’m hoping it’s getting better. My arthritis continues to be worse than usual. Otherwise, I’m just peachy
The good news is that I paid all my bills for the month. The bad news is that there’s hardly any money left. Darn! That cuts down on my plant habit…..and anything else that costs money ;-)
