I’ve been avoiding writing about myself today. I am bummed out.
I shoveled my little sidewalk and walked to the office yesterday and got CRUSHING chest pain. I’ve never had it like that before
Today I picked up dog poop, got my mail, did my laundry and made breakfast and lunch. Each thing has caused incredible shortness of breath and chest pain. I am not amused. I did not have these problems to this extent BEFORE the hospital. I certainly didn’t feel good when in there, but sure not this weak and with such owie chest pain or shortness of breath, either.
Yesterday the doc’s office called when I was in tons of pain and she wanted me to get in ASAP. I called the county transportation company, but they were closed due to the weather. Sigh… I’m waaaaay too weak to drive just yet.
The GOOD news is that I can walk much better
The worst of the ataxia is gone if I walk a little, but comes back if I push it. I’m doing better with that every day.
I miss the ice packs at the hospital. My head is sooooooooooo owie. Maybe I will buy myself one of those gel packs! Good thing I still had plenty of leftovers in the fridge. I have been eating them up. I’m not sure when I will be up to driving again.
The man who is my upstairs neighbor said the smells from my cooking are driving him nuts
I did not realize they went up there. He says he gets awfully hungry when he smells the yummy food. I told him all he has to do is come down and knock on my door if he wants some….because I’m sure as heck not going up a flight of stairs!
Oh, more in the good news department…got a birthday card from Uncle Bill and family. Thank you
You probably know this, but a bag of frozen peas makes a good substitute for an ice pack.
I’m glad that you can walk some. Being unable to walk really causes a lot of trouble.
Sure, I could use ice or peas….but that gel in a bag molds to my neck or head and feels sooooo good….not icy or lumpy….. I’m not spoiled! ;-P
No,you’re not spoiled. Loretta uses the gel in a bag, and it’s very nice. It’s worthwhile if you can afford it. We were able to afford a couple of those gel-filled cold packs in the past, and we still have them.
I’m hoping the public health nurse who is coming can help me get one or two
Look on the internet, there are lots of sites that tell you how to make them. I know you need rubbing alcohol, not sure what else.
