My Adirondack summer and garden

My daughter’s photo album
My daughter took the pics in this album.  The truck, squid and greenbelt are in Austin, TX. My daughter was hiking the AT, had a mini vacation with her husband in Washington, DC, then took the train north to visit me. We spent 37 days together this summer! First we finished planting my garden. Then we took my service dog for a bath at the Tupper Lake car/dog wash. Random pics of my friends Beth and Luc and Aleka cat. Back to the garden for more planting. We bought asparagus and rhubarb from the farm stand between Bloomingdale and Saranac Lake. I LOVE the rain pics from Saranac Lake…especially water coming down the steps!

Heather had her backpacking food on my table so Aleka checked it out. Pics  of my apartment building and the garden. Zeke and Aleka waiting for the Ti ferry, then the ride across Lake Champlain.

I dropped Heather off in Mass at the beginning of the Long Trail. Aleka, Zeke and I camped at a trailhead near Bennington until she walked there. Drove into town in a downpour just in time for flood and hail. Pics of us near various places along the LT around VT. Gorgeous flowers at the Joseph Smith birthplace where we went on a tour. Heather grouchy at King Arthur Flour….they no longer sell almond horns ;-( LOTS more hiking and pics of the LT. Wicked hot in Johnson, VT.We toodled around VT and head towards Maine. Heather bought a canoe. We ate fresh scallops. No matter where we went, there was rain and more rain. Came back to the Adirondacks and my apartment. Heather made brownies. Aleka was glad to be back to a warm, dry house. Then we got restless again. Camped at John Dillon Park in a lean-to, near Long Lake.

I took Heather back to VT where she met up with her hubby for a week. They visited our old VT homestead and had another vacation. Then they flew home to Austin. Heather was inspired to redo her garden :-)
